BMNANZ is led by a volunteer board. If you would like to help shape breastfeeding medicine in Australia and New Zealand, we would love to hear from you.

Commitment
What being a director involves
- Board meetings every 1 to 2 months, on Zoom
- AGM held online
- No in-person attendance expected outside BMNANZ conferences
- Contribute between meetings by email and messaging, and through committees or projects
- Voluntary

- 29 November 2026Annual General Meeting (online): vote on Board nominations.
- 1 December 2026New three-year Board Director term begins
Roles
Board roles
Chair
Strategic leadership, chairs meetings, represents BMNANZ nationally and internationally.
Vice-Chair
Partners with the Chair, chairs in their absence, strengthens board effectiveness.
Secretary
Agendas, minutes, records, governance compliance and member enquiries.
Treasurer
Budgets, financial reporting, compliance and sustainability.
Directors
Project and committee work, broader member representation, strategic input.
Process
How nominations work
- Open call to Professional Members and doctors involved in breastfeeding medicine
- Applications submitted through the website
- Applications reviewed and references checked
- Interviews if required
- Board approves the list of nominations
- Final list sent to Full Members at least one week before the AGM
- Voting at the AGM
